In just a few short months, I will mark my two year blog anniversary.
What started out as a hobby has become my passion and now what I consider my job. I would have never made it this far without the help of many fabulously supportive bloggers. If you are a blogger and want to succeed here are my 5 Reasons Bloggers Need to Get Social! #BloggersGetSocial
#1 Questions and Answers!
Many people have no idea that blogging requires you to become an expert photographer, frequent in HTML code, and a social media maven overnight. If you are a blogger, you will need others to help answer your questions as you set up and grow your blog.
From what’s the best way to work Twitter to how do I center an ad on my sidebar to what the heck is a widget, I have had so many questions about so many bloggy things. Most of the time I just start tinkering and everything works out fine. But there are days when my brain just can’t wrap around a problem.
That’s when I reach out to my trusted group of blogging friends. They have come to my rescue more times than I can count.
#2 Social Media Shares
Second only to writing awesome content, social media sharing is one of the most important things you can do to grow your blog. Other bloggers will help you do that more than anyone else.
Want to get the word out about an awesome recipe or fun holiday craft you just posted? Ask your blogging buddies to help you out by sharing on their social media sites. Of course, they will expect you to return the favor but that is totally okay.
Social Media should always be 20% your content and 80% others.
#3 Roundups
If you have been on Pinterest lately then you know roundups are big. We all love seeing a collection of posts that fit exactly what we have seen searching for.
13 Fun and Frugal Fall Decor Projects
Maybe you would like to create a roundup for your blog. Being social with other bloggers means you can reach out to them when you need specific recipes or projects for a round up. We all love the extra exposure.
Just play nice and make sure to ask before including anyone’s work on your site.
#4 Giveaways
Everyone loves fabulous prizes! If you really want to grow your blog quickly, you need to get social with other bloggers for giveaways.
Bloggers can combine their efforts to host some pretty spectacular giveaways. Most giveaways require participants to follow the hosts through social media, this is a guaranteed way to boost your social media accounts.
#5 Blogging Buddies Give Love
Bloggers need love!
There are days when I sit in front of the computer screen and wonder why in the world am I doing this? I have a little hissy fit and wonder if anyone is even reading my blog? Why can’t I get more traffic?
And if I have to sign up for one more social media account, I’m going to scream!
That’s when I need a little virtual hug from my bloggy peeps. No one understands this crazy thing called blogging like other bloggers. They are there to talk me off the cliff and build me up when I doubt myself.
Make it a point to interact with others to create your own blogging circle of friends.
So… are you a blogger who is ready to get social with others? Are you looking for more information on how to easily connect with people in your blogging niche, give a boost to your social media or find ways to grow your blog?
You need to check out the next class of Bloggers Get Social! Bloggers Get Social is an online community of entrepreneurs, writers, and creatives who are looking for focus and innovative topics to grow their blogs. It’s about monetization, support, and getting your to-do list done.

Sending a virtual hug to you today! I signed up for the Google + event.
Thanks so much, Sweet Friend! Where would we without each other to answer our HELP questions? 😉
~ Ashley
Ashley, you totally nailed it with #5 for me! Even when I unconditionally share my love to other bloggers I often get ignored. I wonder what in a world am I doing wrong and is my blog so awful that no one cares? Wanted to give up so many times, but I love doing it so I hang in there. I would love to learn what you have to offer and will try to make it tonight (if my granddaughter lets me 🙂 )
Hugs
Somedays we just have to keep on creating, writing, and sharing! It definitely takes passion to work this blogging gig!
~ Ashley
Thank you so much for posting these awesome tips! It is really reassuring to know that someone whose blog is as popular as yours has the same thoughts as a newbie like myself 🙂 Although I’m not entirely sure how to participate, I signed up for the Google+ event 🙂
Oh my goodness you are so sweet! Thanks so much for the awesome blogging love!
~ Ashley
I’m glad to call you one of my blogger friends 🙂 I might have to check that out tonight…thanks for the invite!
Yep, you are one of those who’s always there to answer my “oh my goodness” questions!
xoxo,
~ Ashley
Ashley, I so agree with these things. Others really do not understand what it is like to be a blogger. Sometimes I have wanted to give up and think my stats are terrible and noone is reading and noone cares, but having a tribe and connecting with other bloggers is fulfilling – because they get it! I love that about this post! Thank you! Following! 🙂
Yay! So excited to have you following along with my crazy!
You are so right. If you aren’t a blogger then you really have no idea what is takes to create a successful blog. It’s way hard work!
~ Ashley
What a great post! Believe it or not, I just found my blog tribe this year and I’ve been blogging 4 years. What a HUGE difference it’s made in my career! Thanks for stopping by the #BloggingBetter link-up. I loved reading your advice and hope you’ll join us next time.
YAY for blogging tribes! It does take a lot of searching to find just the right fit though.
~ Ashley
I love this! I’m trying really hard to be more social but I’m slowly getting there 🙂 Thanks for this. I’m going to try and attend tonight!
Oh I’d love for you to join us! The Bloggers Get Social group has definitely helped me!
~ Ashley
Great tips on this post.
I chuckled at #1. You got it all dead on. My photography stinks because I don’t have a camera. Thank goodness for being somewhat pc techy from way back and HTML. Other than those, I’m throwing the dice. My niche is difficult in blogging. If I wrote about mom stuff, I could write good content a couple of times a day, but I started blogging with my favorite hobby instead. I’m one of those at the bottom of the totem pole and need to work really hard. Taking your advice, I’ll keep plugging away. This is great, Ashley! Thank you! (hugs)
So happy I made you chuckle a little bit! If we can’t laugh then there is no point. 😉

Ashley – this is a great post. I know what you mean about just feeling like throwing a fit or giving up or having to sign up or keep up with one more social media site. I go through phases of this. My blog is a little over a year old and I am still learning and trying to keep up with things. I try and do what I can and realize that I may not be an overnight success but sometimes slow and steady wins the race! I have other things and activities to keep up with as well as running and managing our home and 3 sons – I have to make my family a priority first right now and just devote what time I can to my blog and social media.
Blogging takes a crazy amount of time, doesn’t it? Keep on creating, writing, and sharing!
~ Ashley
This is great, Ashley! And so true… where would I be without my bloggy friends! So glad to have “met” you to on this crazy and awesome journey of blogging!
So happy to have ‘met’ you too! Keep on being wonderful!
~ Ashley
great tips and we need to work on most of them unfortunately. Some days it seems we are the only people that don’t know html or understand social media. At least we have fun!
Yes, we do have fun! Thanks so much for the comment love!
~ Ashley
To bad I missed the party. I have pretty much been in a blind state where I can only eat, sleep, and paint the dining room. These tips are so very true. I am definitely still trying to understand social media, but bloggy friends are the best!
Most of the time social media makes my head hurt! Can’t wait to see your dining room transformation!
~ Ashley
Being new to the blogging world I am so happy I found this…just sad that I am 2 days late for your google+ party 🙁 I would love to know when you will do it next!
So excited to ‘meet’ you! Good blogging is all about making friends and learning from each other!
~ Ashley
Love these tips! I have made some great friendships from getting social with other bloggers. And only bloggers understand those hissy fits that we all have! 🙂
Oh man! I have thrown some hissy fits over blogging because I have got to be the least ‘techy’ girl out there!
So excited to meet you! Hopping over to your blog!
~ Ashley
Such great tips, Ashley!! And SO true. Being social is what has totally helped grow my blog!! We all help each other out, and it’s amazing what a “share” can do!!
Good blogging is all about sharing! So happy to have met you and your awesome blog!
~ Ashley
Great tips and reminders, especially for a newbie like me. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much for the blogging love!
~ Ashley
I’m bummed I missed the Twitter parties, I hope there will be more!
The giveaways are probably next for me. I haven’t gotten into that realm yet. #5 though, those days when you’re like, “Why am I doing this?” is so true.
Popping over from the Girl on the Move linkup. These are great tips!
Hey Keisha!
So excited you found my blog! I’m dipping my toes into the giveaway ocean too. Wishing us both luck!
~ Ashley
Here’s my virtual hug from the UK !
You are so right, but there just so much of it, I can manage a bit of this and a bit of that but then I feel I’m not doing anything very well. Maybe I should just concentrate on a couple, but then an I missing a fab opportunity? It’s so hard to juggle it all, but then it is also great fun and very rewarding. I have to say that bloggers are a very friendly supportive and helpful bunch in my experience.
Hey Julie! So excited you found my blog today!
I am all over the place with social media. I should concentrate on just a couple of a while too. 😉
~ Ashley
GREAT post, Ashley! I couldn’t agree more. I’m really bad at the social media thing but it’s a work in progress. I always appreciate the love you give me on Facebook/Google+. It’s great knowing other bloggers are there for support and not competition. You are so good at what you do!
Thank so much, Sweet Lady!
~ Ashley
Great tips! Social media is the thing I’m not good at….It is the “job” that gets pushed back when I don’t have time to do everything. And I’m really not good at promoting myself and what I’ve done. I really enjoy your point about making 80% of our shares about other people. Something I need to remember!
No kidding about social media being the job that gets pushed to the back! It takes me so much time and I get so distracted. 😉
~ Ashley
Thanks so much for the comment love!
~ Ashley
Don’t we wish that “write good stuff and they will come” was true! That is awesome that you have a marketing background. I think my years of being a kindergarten teacher has really helped me with explaining tutorials.
~ Ashley
Great post Ashley! I’m seeing all these comments here about making it to google + events and sounds like some virtual “events”….I didn’t see anything in your post about this/these, except for the link to bloggers get social….what am I missing? Sorry to be so dense!!! Thanks so much again for the post!!!
As a new blogger myself, I really appreciate posts like these. I totally didn’t think about participating in or doing roundups before! Thank you so much for sharing! 🙂
