Mmm hmm. You read that right.
Today I’m spilling secrets about what I like, hate, and what’s on my DVR.
Confession #1: I love PBS.
There are no Housewives of this or that or Survivor episodes on my DVR. It’s all Masterpiece Classics, American Test Kitchen, and American Masters. Maybe it’s because growing up PBS was one of the 4 channels we had to but I adore to watch PBS.
I look forward to Monday nights when I can settle in for a hour of Antiques Roadshow. Honey just rolls his eyes when I have to record an episode because we are still in the middle of the nightly bath/bedtime battle.
My mother has commented on more than one occasion that show is “too excruciating” to watch. I guess I love seeing other people’s expressions when they discover their $2 yard sale find is worth $2000.
Confession #2: Wine is gross.
Sipping from elegant crystal glasses of wine is all the rage. My girlfriends always bring bottles of wine to our house parties. Even Honey enjoys a glass of red with dinner sometimes. Unfortunately, I think wine is just yuck.
Yes, I pretend to drink it at fancy weddings or when a hostess (who doesn’t know me very well) offers a glass to me. I even stage lovely tables of wine beside our front porch swing.
But truthfully I would rather have a Tervis Tumbler filled with Grape Crystal Light.
Or a vodka tonic. Two limes, please. 🙂
Confession #3: I’ve got a Phobia
I believe the medical term is Ihatetotalkonthephone-aphobia. This means I will avoid picking up the phone at all costs on most days. Even if that means I have to clean. Gasp!
Honey has to fuss several times about me calling the repair man before I actually make the call. I even avoid calling my dearest friends because I hate it so much. So if you are a sweet friend of mine and haven’t returned your call for weeks. Now you know…
Confession #4: I’m a Trashy Book Club Member
That’s right. A Trashy Book Club.
We all may have read the classics in college but now that we are all grown up we are all about escaping the realities of homework, whiney children, and laundry. Bring on the Edwards and Bellas of the literary world!
For years we met monthly to discuss our latest reads, children, husbands, jobs, and whatever else we needed to get off our chests. We gut-laughed over bottles of Coronas filled with green olives, frosty mugs of Blue Moons, and tall vodka tonics.
Several of us have moved away (including me) but I think of and miss these ladies every day. Hoping to plan a girl’s weekend soon! And that they don’t kill me for sharing this grainy iPhone picture of the last time we were together.
Confession #5: “Fifty” is my Favorite
The Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy is my favorite series. Ever.
There I said it.
Yes, it’s trashy and racy {real racy} but it’s also very girl’s complete fantasy. To be desperately desired by a gorgeous, tortured billionaire. Sign me up!
Dying to know more about me? Then you have to read all the More About the Mama Series!
Pet Peeves ~ Things that drive me right up the batty wall!
Your comments totally make my day! They give me huge motivation to keep creating and having fun with my 3 Little Greenwoods!
I link up with these fun parties!
It’s so fun getting to know you better.
I think wine is gross too! We don’t drink, but I’ve tried a sip of wine twice and I was so not impressed.
I totally get what you mean about not calling people on the phone too. I have to work myself up to make calls to anyone other than friends or family.
Have a wonderful week!
Hey Kim!
Yep. Wine is gross. I’ve tried to like but just can’t acquire the taste. 🙁
Thanks so much for the comment love and for following along!

I hate the phone too! It just wastes my time and I don’t like making calls. Text or email me all day and we’re good. Love getting to know more about you 🙂
Oh I love messaging and emails too! Thanks so much for the comment love!

I love vodka tonics with lime too!!!!
See there? We must be twins separated at birth! 😉
We are sooooooo much alike; I don’t like making phone calls, we also had 4 (grainy) channels growing up, I love PBS and prefer it over any other station and there are no housewives going on, on the TV! LOL I am just giggling about pretending to drink wine! LOVE IT!
Have a glass for me! 🙂
What a cool post! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for joining the Link Up this week!

I loved reading more about you! I agree, wine is really not good, however, I have found that I can stomach Moscato, and it’s pretty tasty. I have never read 50, but I really want to, I think you’ve talked me into it 🙂 Thanks for linking up at Tips and Tricks!
Hey Samantha! Thanks so much for reading about my silly self and for leaving some comment love. Fifty is my favorite but prepare yourself… it’s racy! I’d love to know what you think about it. 🙂

HAHA, that is so funny pretending to drink wine!! And I love the Antique Roadshow, too! I’m always hoping I will be there some day with one of my $2 garage sale bargains!! I love reading more about you! 🙂
Thank you Sweet Lady! Antiques Roadshow is my favorite (especially the jewelry)! It’s so funny that almost everyone on there will say “wow”!

I love this! This post is like a best friend talking to me! Thanks for your honesty! I am following you & I have shared your post! Love from Austin, TX
Now THAT is an awesome compliment! Thank you so much!
I love your confessions, mainly because you sound just like me…expect for the phone phobia, I could talk your ear off on the phone, LOL. Hate wine, love trashy book discussions with friends and while 50 Shades isn’t my favorite of all time I loved reading it (have you read Tiffany Reisz Original Sinners books??) and I love J.R. Ward!
Hey Kat! Oooo… thanks so much for the new author suggestion! I haven’t read The Original Sinners series yet. Love JR Ward too!
We are so alike – except the wine thing. I don’t like red, but I adore a good sweet white wine. Or dry. Sometimes fruity. 🙂 I also adore the trashy novels. My favorites are the ones in a pastorial setting a century or two ago. But then, I also devoured Harry Potter, The Hunger Games and, of course, the Twilight Series! Thanks for splashing the dirt – it was fun to read!
So happy you liked reading my dirt! This summer I’m going to start the Game of Thrones series. Since I’ve watched the show hopefully I will be able to keep track of all the characters. 😉

Me too!
I love when people are real and they share it. Thanks!
Hey Kiersten! Thanks so much for the comment love!

I love learning a little more about you, Ashley! And a trashy book club sounds like just about the best thing ever to me;)
Hi Ashley- Oh my – my new fav drink is vodka tonic with lime! Yes, wine gives me a sluggish morning headache! You had me at vodka. Oh but what is the other drink your mentioned.. Tervis Tumbler… sounds like a blog post! xo, laura
Silly lady! A Tervis Tumbler is an insulated cup that we love to use all the time to keep out drinks cold, especially in the summer! Thanks so much for your comment love!
