Kid Tested & Mama Approved Summer Activities

Spread the love

The beginning of summer is a wonderful time. We swim all day, enjoy movie nights, and sleep late. But after a few weeks of laid back fun the dreaded “B” work arrives at our house.

“Mama, I’m bored.”

If this happens to you let me share some Kid Tested and Mama Approved Summer Activities we did last year. Each of these are simple to do and loved my all three of my children. Best of all ~ they kept them busy for more than 15 minutes!

Here’s a round up of our favorites!

** Super Spy Training **

All you need is yarn to create these awesome obstacle courses! Super easy and super fun! Our boys had the best time rigging up “laser beams” for each other to crawl through.

Go {here} for the post.

** Treasure Rocks **

This was messy fun! Just mix up “rock” batter using 5 ingredients you probably have in your kitchen (or right outside your kitchen door), hide treasures inside, then bake them up. But the real fun happens when the children get to crack them open to reveal the treasure hidden inside.

Go {here} for the recipe.

** Glue & Watercolor Art **

Watercolor paints are one of our favorite craft supplies. Combine watercolors with dried white glue and you’ve got yourself an easy, colorful artwork!

Go {here} for all the project instructions.

**Mama Made Play Dough**

My children love it when we make a big batch of homemade play dough. It’s warm, squishy texture is great for strengthening hand muscles. Especially when they have to knead the coloring into the dough.  Get the recipe {here}.

 **Trampoline Painting**

Hands down Trampoline Painting was our favorite summertime activity! We LOVED it!

If you don’t have a trampoline, a driveway or sidewalk will work great. Just like all the other projects on our list the recipe for mixing up your own paint is super simple. Get the paint recipe {here}.

Hope our activities have inspired you to make your summer happy with your little ones! If you’ve got some great (easy) fun planned with your family, please share your ideas. I’m always looking for something to keep my children busy during the hot summer months!

Your comments totally make my day! They give me huge motivation to                    keep creating and having fun with my 3 Little Greenwoods!

Me too! The paint is simply water, cornstarch, and food coloring. Easy peasy and so much fun!
