Here’s what your Host Ashley have been up to this week!

Happy Birthday to Me! Come see how I celebrated turning the Big 4-0 with my sweet littles and Honey. The Birthday Bonus was visiting our last hometown. I was able to gab, laugh, and hug the necks of some of my favorite women in the world. Honey is famous for his Grill Master skills. We are sharing his tips for grilling one of our favorite dinners: Yummy Fish Tacos. If you are going to have fish tacos, you absolutely must have our recipe for Zesty Fish Taco Sauce. It’s creamy, crunchy and oh so good!

A few 4th of July Fun Facts!

red start

More hot dogs are eaten in July than any other month of the year, which is why it is designated National Hot Dog Month.

red start

On July 4th, the biggest hot dog day of the year, 155 million hot dogs will be consumed. That is enough hot dogs to stretch from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C., more than five times. Who knew?!!

red start
Ever wonder how Hot Dogs got their name?
“Hot Dog” is credited to a sports cartoonist Tad Dorgan. At a 1901 baseball game at the Polo Grounds in New York, vendors began selling hot dachshund sausages in rolls. From the press box, Dorgan could hear the vendors yelling, “Get your dachshund sausages while they’re red hot!” He sketched a cartoon depicting the scene, but wasn’t sure how to spell “dachshund” so he called them simply, “hot dogs” and the rest is history.
red start
Did you know the most popular condiment for a hot dog is mustard? And for kids, it’s ketchup.
red start
Did you know as of July 4, 2014 the nation’s estimated population is 318.4 million? 2.4 Million in July 1776.
red start
And a 4th of July question….Do you spread your condiment on the meat or on the bread?
