Sofia the First Birthday Party on a Budget

Today we are celebrating my sweet daughter’s birthday by giving her a Sofia the First Birthday Party on a Budget.

You are going to love all of these Sofia the First Birthday Party Ideas!

Sofia the First Birthday Party {princess party on a budget} http:www.3littlegreenwoods.com

Our little adores Sofia the First.

Sofia is one my favorite princesses too. So I was super excited to start planning her purple princess birthday party!

Sofia the First Birthday Party on a Budget

Let’s start with the invitations.

I looked everywhere for a free printable to use as a Sofia the First Birthday Invite.

The good news is I found the perfect printable. The bad news is that it is no longer available.

Below are the original Sofia the First Birthday Party Invites.

But don’t stress!

Here are two free Sofia the First Birthday Invitations for you to print.

One of my favorite DIY projects for this party is this Sofia the First Wreath. It’s the perfect way to greet your royal guest!

The next thing you are going to need are pink and purple princess party decorations.

Princess party decor doesn’t get much cheaper than plastic tablecloths. That’s just what I used to make tons of fluffy pompoms and garlands for the party!

Simple princess party favors are a must have for a Sofia the First Birthday Party on a Budget.

Ever since we revealed her First Princess Dress, Tootsie has been over the top excited about her birthday.

She has been Princess Sofia for weeks. There may have been a few spats about not wearing her party dress to bed.

Tootsie loves to wear her Sofia the First Princess Dress daily!

What’s a party without some yummy food to eat?

The table was set with crystal and dishes gathered from the party girl’s Grandmother’s house.

Decorating with photographs and a framed party invitation is a fun and easy touch. So is wrapping a recycled can with paper and adding an accordion paper rosette.

Then there’s the Pièce de résistance. Hope you said that with your best French accent.

It’s the Princess Cake.

DIY Princess Sofia Cake

I wish I could say this cake was as easy as the YouTube video said it would be. But that would be a teensy weensy fib.

Tootsie got her own smash cake!

On the way home, the children grabbed a bag of Princess Play Dough and a Twirly Ribbon Wand.

This party was a wonderful way to celebrate our baby girl.  The sparkle in her eyes when she blew out her three little candles… precious.

I hope I have encouraged you to make it yourself and use what you have to create a celebration your little one will not forget. Thanks so much for sticking through all these Princess Party Posts!

The icing on that Princess Cake almost did me in! After the party was over we heard a horrible crash. We raced into the dining room to find the princess cake had fallen over. That is all Tootsie talked about for weeks! “My princess cake felled over!” So wish I had snapped a picture!

I plan on making the cake recipe again for my husband’s birthday. It was divine!

      Take care, Ashley

What a gorgeous party – the pinwheel rosettes are so pretty. And the cake and goodies!! wow! I have two little boys so we do ‘construction’ and ‘car’s and ‘mario’… so far pinwheel rosettes haven’t fit into the mix. I gotta figure out a way to work them in!! Thanks for sharing this at Work it Wednesday this week Ashley:)

Thanks so much, Krista! After two boys, I am all about princesses, bows, and pink everything. Tootsie’s party was so much fun to plan an decorate.

Speaking of boys… you should check out the DIY Minecraft/Pirate Party we had last spring. I created a ghast pinata (Minecraft ghostie thing) and a skull and cross bones flag pinata.

I’d love to get your invitation template to use with the free printable. Thanks in advance for your help and all you do for moms like me.

Great question! That is simply a piece of pink polka dot scrapbooking paper that I glued to the back of the invite. Just a simple but fun touch to add!

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I love the Sofia the First party! My daughter is in love with her and is already asking for a Sofia birthday party! Your details are precious and so age appropriate. So many parents throw these elaborate parties that are stressful (I am guilty of that myself) ; this is perfect! Please email me a copy of your invitation when you get a chance. I will enjoy keeping up with your blog! I am crafty myself and love to be creative especially with birthday parties! Also, how did you make the paper fan circles for the wreath? They are adorable! Love the little Sofia picture in the center too!

    Take Care! Ashley

When I was searching for a Sofia dress for Tootsie all I could find on DisneyStore.com was a 4/5 (I think). The neck was too big but once I tacked it up it fit well. The online Disney Store was a bit pricey but the quality was so worth the price. I was definitely get a size 5 or 6. Good luck!
