Looking for Mother’s Day Ideas? Host a Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea Party with these easy party planning tips!
For Mother’s Day this year I am planning on hosting a Tea Party to celebrate the special ladies in my life. But because I am a busy mama of three any party planning must be simple.
Let me share with you how I planned our Mother’s Day celebration with free tea party invitations, Mason Jar centerpieces that double as Mother’s Day gifts, and an easy tea party menu. This post contains affiliate links for your convenience. Click here to read my complete disclosure party.
Tea Party Invitations
A fun party always begins with great invitations. Instead of spending days hunting down the perfect tea party invite, I created one of my own. It matches perfectly with the coral impatiens in the Mason Jar centerpieces and I loved using the floral images to make matching flower cupcake toppers.
Save time and money by printing your own tea party invitations!
Afternoon Tea Party Tablescape
To set a pretty tea party tablescape start with a plain white tablecloth, add a patterned table runner, and an easy centerpiece.
I created my own table runner using a 2 1/2 yard of fabric from my favorite craft store. Simply iron over a hem on the cut sides and you are done.
Next you need a simple centerpiece. Beautiful blue Mason Jars and a spring plant made the perfect starting point. Hop over to watch the video of exactly how I made it!
Simply add a coordinating ribbon, a colorful floral cupcake topper, and the centerpieces are complete.
A tea party is the perfect excuse for bringing out our wedding china. There aren’t many occasions to open up the china cabinet so if you have fancy dishes bring them out!
While at the craft store buying fabric for a DIY table runner I also got a yard of coordinating fabric to use as napkins. Instead of hemming them with fabric tape or a sewing machine, I simply use pinking shears to cut the edges.
Sweet little ceramic blue birds and glammed up gold birds bring it all together.
Afternoon Tea Party Menu
Just like the invitations, the tea party menu has to be simple too. {Click here} to see the simple tea party menu I created for our celebration.
I hope you have been inspired to host an afternoon tea party of your own! Whether you are celebrating Mother’s Day or planning a little girl’s tea party these tips will help you do it.
