How to Make a Christmas Grapevine Wreath

In this DIY Christmas Wreath video tutorial we are going to show you how to make a gorgeous wreath filled with sparkling snowflakes, vibrant crabapples, and lush greenery. The finishing touch will be the large traditional plaid Christmas bow.

It is a wonderful way to welcome guests all season long!

DIY Christmas Grapevine Wreath

Materials Needed

(All materials can be purchased at Hobby Lobby)

  • 14” Grapevine Wreath
  • Traditional Christmas Plaid Wired Ribbon
  • 2  Pine and Pinecone Sprays 
  • 2  Pine Needle Branches 
  • 2  Frosted Pine Branches 
  • 2  Red Frosted Crabapple Pick 
  • 4 Snowflake Picks

Tools Needed to Complete Project

  • EZ Bow Maker
  • Hot Glue Gun or Glue Skillet
  • High Temp Glue Sticks
  • Wire Cutters for cutting floral stems
  • Sharp scissors for ribbon cutting
  • Chenille stems

 

How to Make a Christmas Grapevine Wreath

Step One: Prepare Wreath

To prepare the grapevine wreath simply take a few minutes to remove any dried leaves or spray twigs. This will give your wreath a cleaner and more professional appearance. 

Step Two: Make and Add The Bow

Follow along with the video to create a large bow with traditional Christmas plaid ribbon. Don’t forget: wired ribbon is a must!

Add the finished bow at the 10 o’clock position on the wreath. 

Step Three: Begin to “Green” the Wreath

Use the greenery sprays and picks to create the shape of the crescent on the grapevine wreath. These greenery add different colors and textures.

Step Four: Add Color with Crabapples

Use wire cutters to cut apart the two crabapple picks. Add pieces evenly throughout the wreath.

Step Five: Add Sparkle with Snowflakes

Use hot glue to add snowflakes to the wreath.
