Pretties on the Table (A beachy vignette)

Vignettes are all “the thing ” on DIY decorating blogs. Basically that’s a fancy word for creating a small scene with objects to tell a story. It encourages you to be thoughtful in your choosing and placement.

Unfortunately for the past nine years most of our table tops have been barren of anything that might resemble a vignette. No picture frames, precious collectibles, or flowers. It was impossible to keep all those chubby baby hands off my stuff.

But I think (fingers crossed) that we’ve finally reached the stage where I can display a nice grouping of things without fearing their demise within 10 minutes.

Here’s my beachy, summertime table top.

Shopping the house was a must because I’ve got zero budget and dragging my 3 little people out to shop is… well, I’d rather go to the dentist.

One of my favorite lamps got a coat of glossy white spray paint and a new burlap shade.Beach Inspired Vignette @ 3littlegreenwoods

This pumpkin glass jar truly got a Cinderella makeover. I filled it with sand and shells from our June beach trip. Thank goodness you can’t see the jack-o-lantern face on the back. A beachy vignette @ 3littlegreenwoods

A wooden cigar box was given a white stripe with a few shells attached.

This table top of pretties definitely says summertime. It reminds me of my favorite place and the little hands that helped gather it all.A beachy vignette @ 3littlegreenwoods
