Oh my goodness! After what seemed like an eternity of stalking Craigslist, thrift stores and yard sales I finally found a kitchen hutch that I love!
Alright… saying I love it might be a slight exaggeration. It’s true that I really wanted an old school china cabinet with scrolly feet and hand carved doors. My dream kitchen hutch would look like this Shabby Kitchen Hutch Makeover by my sweet friend Cindy from DIY Beautify.
This piece fits the space, has a drawer, and shelves for displaying my treasures. It also came way under my budget of $100.
So far under budget I paid $35 for it! Wahoo!
Unfortunately $35 is pretty much all it’s worth. Trust me.
But there is great potential. The hutch has great lines, crown molding, a stained top I like, and a light to illuminate all my pretties.
Let me show you what I found…
Okay. That was the good stuff.
Bare with me as I share the list of repairs with you. I am holding myself accountable by putting this whole project out there in blogland.
The back piece for the bottom of the hutch is completely missing but I do have the two shelves that go inside.
One of the door knobs is missing. That’s not a biggie since I will want to replace all of them with something a bit less “woody”.
That repair list may not look like much but this will be the first time I have ever taken on a furniture makeover of this size. I hope you will stick around to see the outcome of this $35 Kitchen Hutch.
Crossing my fingers it all goes to plan!
Your comments totally make my day! They give me huge motivation to keep creating and having fun with my 3 Little Greenwoods!
