My favorite part of the holidays are the lights that sparkle and shine everywhere. Instead of packing up all that happiness I decided to keep a few strands of light out and share some Front Porch Ideas for Winter with you!
Here’s 3 Front Porch Ideas for Winter that will help you enjoy the glow of the holidays a little bit longer.
Front Porch Ideas ~ Find a Little Bit of Shine
No, I’m not talking about adding Christmas ornaments to the front porch but searching for something with a bit of shine is a great idea! Two stainless buckets and an old brass firewood holder are perfect for holding the lights and a few other pieces.
Front Porch Ideas ~ Go Natural!
Search your yard for pinecones, interesting logs, and branches. The buckets and firewood holder paired with birch logs, cotton branches, and pinecones make an awesome addition to our front porch.
I adore the bright, festive colors of Christmas but the natural, woodsy tones of the Front Porch Winter Decor is wonderful contrast.
By the way if you can ever get your hands on birch logs hoard them up like candy on Halloween! When I realized Honey had brought home birch for firewood I went running down the hill to grab up the logs before he could add them to the wood pile.
Just look at the amazing texture of the birch bark!
The cotton branches are the same type I used to create this Cotton Wreath for our Southern Gentlemen’s Home Office Makeover.
Front Porch Ideas ~ Light It Up!
After the pieces were arranged I simply tucked the lights around everything. These front porch ideas look great during the day but magic happens at night. The cotton bolls glow with the soft lights!
Don’t give up the lights of holidays yet! Decorate with these Front Porch Ideas for Winter using something shiny, natural elements, and holiday lights!

Thanks for all your ideas. Happy Holidays!
Good Morning Ashley, what a fantastic idea. I always get a little blue when I take down all festive sparkle of Christmas. My home goes from full one to nothing in a day. I think I need to adopt your idea and keep some sparkle going a bit longer. Thanks for the inspiration.
Happy Thursday, Lynn
Thanks so much for your sweet comments! The light of the holidays are too pretty to put away, right?
Hi Ashley I just found your blog. I really love your ideas for decorating a front porch for winter. I do miss my Christmas lights but with your ideas i will be getting them back out. Also I have many branches in my yard from last rain storm so I will put them to good use. Thanks have a great day.
Hey Debby! Thank you so much for your sweet words about our Winter Front Porch. Those Christmas lights still make me happy!
I do my home, inside and outdoors in snowmen and snow flakes. I have 3 containers set aside and start decorating after Christmas decorations are carefully and neatly put away. The snowmen and flake decorations stay until the start of the month of February. I swit h to Valentines, then Spring, Easter, Summer, Fall, Halloween, and back to Christmas. Lots of hard week but it all makes for a lot you never tire of doing.
Thanks so much for letting me know all about how you decorate with snowflakes! I love using them too. They make decorating from Christmas to winter so easy!
{BIG hugs}, Ashley
