If you have been searching for Easter decoration ideas I have got the cutest PEEPS® Door Decor to share with you. It’s a fun and super easy Easter craft that is sure to put a smile on your face!
Materials Needed for PEEPS Door Decor:
- poster sized foam core sheet
- large PEEPS rabbit shape for tracing
- serrated knife for cutting
- washi tape
- black craft paint
- a variety of coordinating ribbon
Directions for Making a PEEPS Door Decor:
Start the project with a white foam core poster and a large PEEPS® shaped rabbit. I used two large bowls to trace for the rabbit’s body and head then drew the two ears. After I was satisfied with the sketch I cut out the shape then traced it onto the foam core.
See the serrated kitchen knife in the picture? That is by far my best tool for cutting foam core! I know there are fancy tools out there for that purpose but this knife works just fine.
My PEEPS® door decor had to be the traditional bright yellow. So I choose Krylon’s “Bright Idea” yellow spray paint. Painting foam core can be tricky. The key is to spray lots of very light layers of spray paint on to the foam core. Too much paint will bubble or crinkle the paper that covered the foam.
Here’s my little rabbit halfway through the process. I took my time applying light layers of paint until I had the true yellow color I wanted.
Once the rabbit was completely covered in bright yellow I added hot pink washi tape all around the edges. Notching the edges of the tape will allow it to lay smoothly around curves of the shape. I used this same technique for my Basketball Party Decor.
The washi tape looks great as a decorative border around the shape and covers the raw edge of the foam core poster.
A little black craft paint for eyes and a nose brings the PEEPS® door decor to life. I love her sweet expression!
The bow was made using the EASIEST Bow Making Tutorial ever! I love this easy to follow bow making technique and have used it for Christmas decor, Valentine’s Wreath, and a Shamrock Wreath.
Placing this sweet PEEPS® Door Decor on our front door makes all of us so excited for Easter!
