A family of five means lots of dirty dishes. Somedays it seems as if I spend all day standing at the kitchen sink. Since I spend so much time there I thought it was high time I prettied it up.
The kitchen sink is also one of places everyone sees when they visit our home. I want it to reflect my personality with pattern and color.
Let me share how you can Dress Up the Kitchen Sink with five quick tips.
Normally my sink area looks like this.
Yes, I just shared my dish filled kitchen sink. You can close your mouth now.
After a few DIY home decor projects, heartfelt touches, and wonderful lemon scented Softsoap Liquid Foaming Hand Wash the sink looks much better!
Start with No-Sew Kitchen Curtains
Last summer when we added a Super Cheap Bay Window Curtains and the Easiest Curtains Ever, the makeover train never made it’s way over to the kitchen sink.
So the first DIY project I tackled was no-sew kitchen curtains. I followed the same steps as the home office window treatments and kitchen curtain panels. Except this time I used hot glue instead of fusible tape.
I love the punch of pattern and color the fabric adds! Plus this kitchen valance cost nothing because I had everything on hand. Yay for FREE!
Add Plants to the Kitchen
Are these not the cutest little succulents?
I love their fresh, bright green color!
And I really love that they will require no water. Because the succulents are fakey-fake!
Houseplants don’t have a long life near my brown thumb so these faux succulents are perfect. To balance out the double windows above the kitchen sink there is one small planter on each side.
Soften Up with Colorful Kitchen Towels
New kitchen towels are an inexpensive way to add more color. We all know how yucky kitchen towels can get so I like to refresh our towels every once in a while.
The boys bought me this one while Christmas shopping with Honey. It makes them so happy that I have it proudly displayed above the sink.
Add Personality
Because I do spend so much time standing at the kitchen sink I want to add a bit of personality to the space. Little Boy gave me this small turtle several years ago. He bought it at a country fair with my parents. It is a sweet piece that makes my heart happy.
Our family handprint artwork is another piece I love dearly. I remember chasing all three children down that day to trace their little chubby hands. Wish my babies were still that little!
Indulge in a Great Smelling Soap
Just think about how many times you wash your hands throughout the day. Don’t you deserve a great smelling hand soap like Softsoap Liquid Foaming Hand Wash?
Kitchen Citrus Bliss is the finishing touch to dress up the kitchen sink! I love the foaming soap and refreshing smell.
Softsoap liquid foaming soaps are easy to find at your local Walmart on the Health and Beauty aisle. These are premium foaming hand soaps at a great everyday price at Walmart.
Isn’t the change amazing? With a few DIY projects, great accessories, and Softsoap Liquid Foaming Hand Wash dressing up the kitchen sink can be fabulous!
Our family also enjoys Whipped Cocoa Butter and Jasmine & White Cotton foaming hand soap in our bathroom.
All the scents are my favorite but I really love the Kitchen Citrus Bliss. It makes my hands smell so good as I make dinner for our family.
Which of the three new Softsoap Liquid Foaming Hand Soap scents would go great on your sink?

First of all, I LOVE the curtains. The house I live in now doesn’t have a window over the sink and I really miss that. I always loved looking outdoors while washing dishes. I love your ideas for your sink area. I use that hand soap and love it. Love the smells.
Your before picture looks a lot like my sink every day! I love how you spruced it up. The turtle is my favorite- so sweet!

Ashley as always everything you do looks fabulous!! Now…my real question is how do you keep it looking like that, because even if I tried to dress up my kitchen sink area your wouldn’t notice over the mas massive amount of dishes 🙂
