I love an easy fix! The lamp shade you see above was definitely easy.
Please forgive me for not having before shots for this project but picture a very cheap, thin white shade. I disliked it every time I walked by and knew I could do better. So up to the craft room I went.
In my stash I found some muslin. I pictured a burlap-like wrapped shade. But there was only enough muslin to wrap half the shade. To cover up the other half, I began cutting strips and gluing them on. Then I loosely knotted one of the strips. It looked pretty good. I added a few more knotted strips (5 in all) and viola!
I love the texture of the fraying muslin and the knots.
One day I may cover the entire shade by add more strips but for now I’m happy not to have that ugly white shade glaring at me. Anyone else out there decorating lampshades this week?
