How to Decorate Front Porch for Summer
First, let’s go back to the beginning to see where this front porch makeover started. You can see the ugly before in this Facebook Live.
Thankfully it only took me a few easy steps to clean the front porch to get it ready for all the pretty things.
Next, I needed to decide on a decor theme. I like to do a little something different each year as I decorate the front porch for summer.
The front porch decorating inspiration this year came from this set of farmhouse pillow covers. Pair them with these black buffalo plaid pillows and I was in love with the look!
Every front porch needs a little seating area. All you need are a couple of chairs and a little table of some sort between. An outdoor rug helps to define the conversation area.
A small table, two chairs, a handful of farmhouse pillows, and an upcycled outdoor tray… put it all together and you have a great place for chit chatting with neighbors.
Once the seating arrangement is set, it’s time to add all the accessories.
Doesn’t this summer lantern swag go perfectly with the colors in the pillows? It adds height and interest to the little seating arrangement I created with the two black metal chairs. The turquoise tray is simply an old picture frame I turned upside down and spray painted.
Right over the tops of these hot pink impatiens you will see my most favorite spot.
It’s a swing where I can tuck in with a good book or swing with one of my children. There’s been lots of sweet secrets shared there.
An old quilt adds a bit of softness to the swing. It comes in handy when there’s a still a bit of spring chill in the air. Layer on more farmhouse pillows and it’s perfect!
The soft pink quilt is also the wonderful backdrop for the new farmhouse pillows. I love how the pink in the quilt coordinates with the pink flowers overflowing from the bicycle’s basket.
Now there was a bit of a controversy about which wreath I should use for the front door.
My faithful email followers unanimously voted for this pink peony summer grapevine wreath. The vibrant pinks were a beautiful match to the pillows, quilt, and flowers.
The only bad news is that a customer purchased it before I could even take pictures of it! That’s really awesome news since I love having others decorate their homes with items from my 3 Little Greenwood’s Etsy Shop. You should totally hop over and check it out!
So I did what any craft girl would do… I made an even better one!
This Summer Floral Grapevine Wreath is the perfect finishing touch to my front porch makeover! It’s full of large yellow gerber daisies, dainty pink daisies, and lovely greenery.
And it matches the summer lantern swag I used to decorate the large lantern beside the front door!
