Everyone loves how clean and fresh their homes look after all the Christmas clutter has been packed away. But don’t your rooms seem dark? Especially on dreary, freezing cold winter days?
Why not leave a little bit of holidays up by transforming Christmas into Winter with the help of a few snowflakes? This Snowflake Winter Mantel is the perfect idea to decorate your mantel for winter.
The pre-lit wreath is a Lowe’s buy from last year. I love how the little pinecones add bit of “real” to the greenery.
The large sparkly snowflakes were tree toppers I cut apart. The rest of the snowflakes are simple ornaments. All the pieces are simply held in place by the wreath. No hot glue or wires will allow me to easily clear it all off and start fresh next season.
Chunky candlesticks, bright red metal houses, and a touch of snow balance out the Snowflake Wreath.
Small piles of faux snow add fluffy texture around the candles and houses. Luckily there was a little snow leftover from our Counting Down to Christmas fun.
Remember these cute red houses? These are the ones I bought on my after Christmas shopping adventure from youknowhere.
I still love them even though they weren’t even the teeniest bit on sale.
The glow from the wreath and the candles add the perfect amount of cheery light to our gloomy living room. Especially at night.
If I could only get rid of the cord. Stoopid cords!
What have you done to keep a little bit of brightness during the cold winter days?

Thank you Lindsay! I just couldn’t put all that pretty stuff away. 😉
Joining you from Winter Wreath Challenge. I’m really enjoying your snowflake wreath. What a beautiful way to leave the sparkle in your house after the Christmas comes down. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Deborah! Thank you so much for your sweet comment. I love your post about Winter in Orlando! We live in South Carolina and are always wishing and hoping for snow too!
Your snowflake mantel looks wonderful and is a nice transition from Christmas to winter décor. I always like to leave some lights up on our mantel after Christmas too. If you had another of those terrific red houses maybe you could put it in front of the cord or try moving the ones you have over to that spot and switch the candlesticks – just a thought!
Thanks so much for the tip, Lori! Happy New Year to you!
