A Pop of Pretty!

Our front door was looking oh so drab after Christmas. That would never do.

Especially since I am hosting a luncheon on Valentine’s Day.

I’ve had plans for making a rag wreath for Tootsie’s bedroom for months. The pinks and greens of the fabric I collected would make the perfect Valentine’s wreath for the front door.

Before you can get started, you need to hunt up the largest wire hanger you can find. It was surprisingly easy to bend into a circle. Although I did need pliers to hook the ends together.

Next grab some sharp scissors and begin to cut strips. They will need to be 1″ to 1 1/2″ wide and 6″-8″ long. I used over 100 strips to make my wreath.

Making this wreath is as easy as tying knots. A lot of knots.

To make sure the hot pink was spaced evenly, I  tied those strips first. Then filled in with the other fabrics. Squish the knots together and squeeze in as many pieces as you can. The goal is to have a full wreath with all the wire covered.

SONY DSCI love how it turned out! Definitely a pop of pretty for the front door. And it will look great in Tootsie’s bedroom after Valentine’s.

I can’t wait to welcome all the moms and kiddos for lunch on Thursday for Valentine’s Lunch!
