Oh my goodness! The Dollar Store fairies were watching on the day I stumbled across packages of white snowflakes. Just look at the DIY Snowflake Plate Charger I made for our Christmas table!
Before holiday craziness takes over I have got to tell you about the Snowflake Plate Charger I made for my Christmas table.
It’s simple, sparkly, and was made from Dollar Store snowflakes! This post may contain affiliate links marked with an asterisk. Click here to see my full disclosure policy.
Snowflake Plate Charger ~ Supplies Needed
hot glue gun* (this one is my favorite!)
Yep. All you need are three supplies to make these snowflake plate chargers for your holiday decorations!
We all know you never know what you are going to find at the Dollar Store. So when I stumbled across these packages of white, plastic snowflakes I grabbed them up. It’s better to pick up something you might use on a craft than to hurt yourself racing back to get it and find it’s gone.
Can I get an amen?
Don’t feel like taking a chance hunting the local Dollar Store for snowflakes? Check out these plastic snowflake ornaments*. They are almost exactly like the ones I purchased to make these DIY Christmas decorations.
DIY Snowflake Plate Charger ~ Instructions
Step One: Make a circle template
Before the easy Christmas tablescape idea got started I needed a circle to follow. One of my fancy Christmas plates served as a large template. I simply taped together three pieces of paper together. Then flipped over the plate, stole a marker from the children, and drew around the edges.
Easiest circle template ever.
Step Two: Prep your template with parchment paper
Cover the paper circle template with parchment paper*. This will prevent the hot glue and snowflake ornaments from sticking to the paper.
Step Three: Create a circle with snowflake ornaments
The plastic snowflakes ornaments* were arranged around the circle then hot glued into place. I made several layers of snowflakes by gluing them on top of each other as I went around the circle.
Layering the snowflakes on top of each other makes a more sturdy circle. This will make is easier to move, rearrange on your Christmas tablescape, and store after the holidays.
Make sure to place parchment paper* over the circle to prevent the plastic snowflakes from sticking to your paper template.
In the end, I used both packages of snowflakes* on one DIY Snowflake Plate Charger.
Isn’t it pretty laying on my plaid placemat?

Here is the DIY Snowflake Plate Charger on my Christmas table. Love it!
Wow! Who knew how fabulous plastic snowflake ornaments from the Dollar Store could look on a Christmas tablescape. The crispness of the white snowflakes pop against my navy tablecloth!
Just a bit of hot glue, a couple of packages of snowflakes, and I’ve got a fabulous addition to our Christmas tablescape. Now I’m off to the Dollar Store to buy more snowflakes. I’ve got five more Snowflake Plate Chargers to make.
Save me some if you get there before me!

Thanks so much, sweet friend!
I have a question for you: Does the plate slide around when sitting on these fabulous chargers?
Great question, Denise! The plate do slide around a tiny bit but not too bad. I can’t wait to get them back out this year to decorate my Christmas table!
What a cute project. I think the Dollar Tree still carries those – I will have to go back. My Christmas decor is a non-traditional turquoise and silver. I think it would be fun to give the chargers a coat of spray paint to coordinate.
Love your idea.
I’m so excited that you love my Snowflake Plate idea. What a great idea to spray paint the snowflakes different colors! Merry Christmas!
Your snowflake chargers are so cute! What a creative idea. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much, Denise! These snowflake chargers were so pretty on our Christmas table this year.
The final silver snowflake topper with the pearl and jeweled tips…..did you make them as well? Tell me more because that’s really the perfect finishing touch.
Hey Gail! Actually those are from clearance Christmas tree toppers that I took apart to add to my Christmas tablescape. So happy that you love the snowflake chargers!
Really lovely idea. Those snowflakes are often also available glittered in silver or gold. You can order them in bulk from the dollar store.
Really? You can order them in bulk from the Dollar Store? I’ve got to remember that next year when I want to make more for our dining room table.
Thanks for the tip, Lisa!
I made these two years ago because of you. EVERYONE absolutely loves them. Thank you! Hands down best Dollar Tree Craft I’ve ever made. (I went to my Dollar tree and bought an entire case… I made 12 to go with my chargers) The snowflake charger rings are a stunner!
Love these! Unfortunately Dollar Tree doesn’t have these snowflakes this year (at least not yet). Can you tell me how big those are and approx. how many you used per plate? I’d still love to try these, but want to make sure I get enough and that they’re the right size. Thanks!
Thanks for the great question! I think I used about 18-20 snowflakes per charger. Hope that helps!
I love this snowflake ring. I am just curious as to how many snowflakes are used to make one ring? I want to make around 22 and need an idea of how many packs to buy. Thanks in advance,
Thanks for the great question! I think I used about 18-20 snowflakes per charger. Hope that helps!
Can you tell me the diameter of the snowflake ornaments you used?
Thanks for sharing the DYI. I buy these chargers all the time for display and actually under a dinner plate. I think they are elegant on their own. Have a great day!
