Coffee Creamer Snowmen are the perfect Christmas gifts for parents from their children! Teachers are going to love this recycled project made from plastic coffee creamer containers.
One day my mama called to ask if I would like for her to save all the empty, small creamer bottles she was using with her morning coffee. I almost said no because my small preschool classroom doesn’t have much storage.
Where was I going to keep a whole year’s’ worth of coffee creamer containers?
But I’m so happy that I found room for them!
Just look at these adorable Christmas gifts for parents that my preschoolers made! The Coffee Creamer Snowmen are filled with hot chocolate mix and mini marshmallows. The children are going to love sharing them with their families!

Christmas Gifts for Parents ~ Coffee Creamer Snowmen: Supplies Needed
Coffee Creamer Bottles {empty and cleaned}
Kitchen Funnel
1″ x 12″ strips of Fleece of Felt for Snowmen Scarves
1″ pieces of Orange Pipe Cleaners for Carrot Nose
Black Permanent Marker
Small Colorful Pom Poms for Earmuffs
If you are an avid creamer lover like my mother and I then you already know that coffee creamer bottles come in large and small. The smaller (16 oz.) bottles work best for this Christmas gift idea for parents because the children will be filling it with pre-made hot chocolate mix and marshmallows.
The smaller bottles make this homemade christmas gift idea for parents more budget friendly for the teachers who will need to purchase all the supplies.
Prep the bottles by making sure they are cleaned thoroughly and removing the label.
How to Make Christmas Gifts for Parents ~ Coffee Creamer Snowmen
Step One: Set Up the Coffee Creamer Snowman Making Station
Find a empty table in your classroom to set up the Coffee Creamer Snowman making station. I cleared off one of our center tables to set up the DIY Christmas gift station.
Teacher Tip: Take the time to gather ALL of the supplies needed for this project. It will save you from running all over the classroom while you are trying to manage preschoolers with hot chocolate mix and marshmallows. Trust me on this one!
Step Two: Fill the Snowman
My philosophy for teaching is that the children need to be involved as much as possible in their Christmas gifts for parents. My job is to simply provide the tools and help them along.
We used a kitchen funnel to fill the creamer bottle halfway with hot cocoa mix. To save time I purchased this pre-made hot chocolate mix.
If you would rather make your own here’s a few recipes you might like to try:
- The Best DIY Creamy Hot Chocolate Mix from Living a Sunshine Life
- Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix with NO Powdered Milk from Busy-At-Home
Provide a bowl full of mini-marshmallows for the children to fill the rest of the creamer bottle.
Step Three: Make the Snowman’s Face
After the Christmas gifts for parents are filled use a Low Temp Hot Glue Gun to add wiggly eyes and a carrot nose {1″ piece of orange pipe cleaner folded in half}.
Use a black permanent marker to add the Snowman’s smile.
I skipped this step at first but went back and added it.
Step Four: Dress the Snowman Warm!
To make the snowman’s scarf cut a 1″ x 12″ strip of fleece or felt. Make a 1/2″ cut in the strip about 2″ from one end.
Pull the other end of the scarf through the small hole to wrap the Snowman’s neck. A little bit of hot glue on the back can secure it in place if needed.
Use more low temp glue to add pom poms for ear muffs. Too cute!
Don’t forget to add the children’s names to the bottom of each coffee cream containers.
The children are so proud of their Coffee Creamer Snowmen. They can’t wait to share their Christmas gifts for parents!
I hope you have been inspired to create Coffee Creamer Snowmen with your own children or students. It is a super simple DIY Christmas present for parents that the children are excited to share.
