Remember a few weeks ago when I announced that I would be participating in a Holiday Thrift Store Swap? Today is the first day of the swap and I’m so excited to be joining with 11 other amazing DIY Bloggers!
I couldn’t wait to get my thrifty goodness in the mail from my swap buddy. I checked the front porch every afternoon for weeks.
I waited. And waited. And waited.
Finally we realized my items were lost in the mail somewhere in between Michigan and South Carolina. Brittany from DIY Just Cuz rushed to send me another box of thrift store items but there was a problem with what she sent.
Tucked inside the small cardboard box were two milk glass candlesticks, a couple of brass jello molds, and a cool wooden bowl.
I couldn’t bring myself to transform any of it. Especially the milk glass candlesticks!
So instead of whipping out the spray paint I simply added the candlesticks to my Christmas Dining Room table. Doesn’t the white of the candlesticks just pop against the cheery red of the tablerunner? Love them!
Once the candlesticks were in place I piled them high with small red and green ornaments. The colors tie in perfectly with all of the colors of the Christmas decor {especially the Christmas tree}.
If you love this Christmas tablescape then you have got to see our entire Christmas Dining Room. It’s full of traditional Christmas decor with a twist and the cutest DIY Pet Silhouettes you’ve ever seen!
Now I can’t wait to share all of the amazing thrift store transformations from my blogging buddies!

I love how your put your items to use! Makes for a beautiful tablescape!
Ashley, I’m sorry about the mixup, It’s disappointing when something is “lost”…until it finally shows up at your doorstep! I’m glad that you got both of your boxes and cannot wait to see what you did with the other items =) I’m digging what you did with the milk glass! It looks beautiful on your table. Thank you for joining in on our Thrift Store Swap!
There was no way I could change up those fabulous candlesticks! They fit right into my Christmas tablescape and I love them filled with mini ornaments.
What a debacle with getting your package! I suppose that’s bound to happen when you’re shipping things 🙂 Thanks for being a part of the swap with us! I did the same thing as you this time around and for once didn’t spray paint my thrifted item. That’s usually my go-to weapon when making over thrifted things. Pretty table!
Isn’t spray paint the BEST? I’ve got a whole rainbow of different colors stashed in our garage! I’m so loving the paper boxwood wreath you made. I need to make one for my own Christmas decor!
That is such a bummer about the mix up. I am happy it finally showed up, you still get to have fun changing them up!
I’ve got great plans for the first box that finally arrived last weekend! Thanks so much for the sweet comment.
What great items! I don’t know if I would’ve been able to paint those candle holders either….they’re perfect the way the are. Love that you were able to use them on your tablescape.
Thanks so much, Erlene! I’m adding milk glass candlesticks to my thrift store list from now on!
