Giving a gift in a jar is so much fun! Especially when it’s full of fun Dollar Store art supplies and cost less than $10. “Have Yourself an ARTSY Little Christmas!” {Gift in a Jar} is perfect for easy and inexpensive gift giving this holiday season.
The #Make It Challenge for December was to create a Christmas gift using only Dollar Store finds. Since we have three children I am always thinking about gifts they would like to receive and give to their friends. A Dollar Store gift in a jar is an inexpensive and creative gift for the holiday season.
Art supplies are always welcome at our house so I headed straight to the Dollar Store art supplies aisle.
Here’s what I found:
- Paint-a-Bank Sheep Craft Kit
- Foam Beads and Chenille Stems for Bracelet Making
- Finger Paint
- Colorful Markers
- Snack Container (emptied and uses as a “jar”)
- A Festive Bow
All of these supplies cost less than $8.00!
As I was pulling the gift together it occurred to me this would be perfect for Tootsie to give to her sweet friend, Bestie E. Hopefully the extra art supplies will keep Bestie E and her sisters busy while their mother survives the holiday craziness.
I love gifts in a jar but didn’t think my 4 year old giving another 4 year old a glass jar filled with goodies was such an awesome idea. Instead of a traditional glass jar, I emptied a plastic container filled with snacks and used it to hold the gift.
This idea allowed me to have a 2 for 1: an unbreakable container for the gift plus snacks for my always starving children!
Once the jar was clean, it was ready to be stuff to the top with the Dollar Store art supplies. Each item was removed from the packaging and carefully layered inside the jar.
I love how colorful this Dollar Store Gift in a Jar is! There was actually enough art supplies to create two gifts. My plan is to set the other items aside for a birthday gift in the future.
Add a super simple, handmade card to the outside.
Top it with a festive Dollar Store bow and Ta-Da: “Have Yourself an ARTSY Little Christmas!” {Gift in a Jar}
