Eight. More. Days.
Then school will be out for the summer. Wahoo!
We are celebrating a little early with a super fun Tie Dye Your Summer Party!
Party planning is fun but no one wants to complicate a Welcome Summer Party with lots of fancy table decoration ideas.
A DIY banner, DIY plastic pompoms, colorful tablecloths, and yummy treats are all you need. Don’t forget about bubble wands as easy party favors!
Easy to make Tie Dye Cookies were the stars of the food table.
The children loved how colorful they were and you won’t believe how simple the cookies were to make. I whipped these up with a few store bought ingredients! Don’t they look just like tie dye?
Multi-colored goldfish and fresh fruit balanced out the sweet cookies.
DIY Frilly Fondue Sticks poked down into the goldfish add a fun flair. They can also be used for making yummy fruit kabobs.

Oh, you will also need a tie dye kit!
Our favorite kit is this Tulip® One-Step Tie-Dye Kit. The kits includes prefilled fabric dye bottles, rubber bands, plastic gloves, and a protective cover.
It’s everything you need to keep the mess to a minimum!
Once all the little tummies were filled with snack it’s time to move on to the second phase of our Tie Dye Your Summer Party ~ making awesome shirts with the squirt gun tie dye technique!
Squirt Gun Tie Dye Technique: Supplies Needed
Outside is the best place for a tie dye party. The children selected their favorite colors and I mixed water into the pre-filled fabric dye bottles.
After the colors were mix, I carefully added the dye to the plastic squirt guns.
Now squirt guns filled with tie dye has to come with a few rules.
Squirt Gun Tie Dye Technique: Rules!
1. Everyone must wear gloves and old clothes!
2. No shooting at your brother!
3. Have fun designing your tie dye shirt!
Before passing out the dye filled squirt guns I spread out the plastic surface cover on the grass. It was included in the tie dye package and made cleanup a breeze. The corners of the plastic sheet were weighted down with cans to prevent it from flying away as we designed our tie dye shirts.
Then all the children got a water gun and got busy designing their shirts. All of the water guns were passed around so everyone was able to add all the colors in their designs.
The children loved using this squirt gun tie dye technique to create their shirts! Containing the dye in the plastic squirt guns helped to keep the mess to a minimum.
Just like their personalities each shirt is different.
Our daughter was more careful with how she used the squirt gun to add fabric dye to her shirt. On the other hand the boys were intent on making their shirts a full of colors as they could.
When everyone was satisfied with their creations we wrapped them up in plastic bags to overnight then followed the manufacturer’s instructions for washing the tie dye shirts.
The children proudly wore their shirts to school and are begging to use the squirt gun tie dye technique again!
I loved how easy party planning decor, yummy snacks, and a Tulip® One-Step Tie-Dye Kit helped our family to celebrate the end of school with a Tie Dye Your Summer Party. We enjoyed spending an afternoon designing shirts and munching on cool Tie Dye Cookies!
