We have finally reached the stage in our child rearing where the children actually play on the beach instead of screaming at the waves, needing to be fed, or eating sand {okay… Tootsie will still sneak a fistful but since she is #3 we know it’s not going to kill her}.
Most of our beach days are spend on the beach. The children play in the sand and surf while the grown ups see which one of us can read the most books in a week. That’s a perfect vacation for me.
But just when we are getting comfortable Mother reminds me of all the years they drug my brother and me up and down the strip entertaining us with movies, water slides, and putt putt. Of course, the children’s ears perk up at the mention of such fun and we are off to pay our dues at the closest water park.
Sweet Tootsie got left behind while we snuck off with the boys to spend the *entire* day riding giant water slides and bumper boats.
Honey and I decided to get all the fun accomplished in one day so we hit up the Pirate Ship Putt Putt course located inside the water park.
Do they look tired? Lord, I hope so because by this point I was still damp from the last slide, glistening from the heat and down right cranky. Notice we Southern girls “glisten”. 😉
Beach chair + big hat + a Kindle full of trashy reads = one happy Mama!
Your comments totally make my day! They give me huge motivation to keep creating and having fun with my 3 Little Greenwoods!
I link up with these fun parties!
Oh fun! 😀 Our little guy has been begging to go to putt putt…it finally cooled off here so we may just go now! 😀
Putt Putt is not my favorite! It was so hot and Honey was determined to keep score. I was determined to see how fast we could get through the course. 😉

Won’t lie–am TOTALLY jealous of the “Beach chair + big hat + a Kindle full of trashy reads”–sounds blissful! But I’m thrilled for you and looks like you guys are all having so much fun! Enjoy the sunshine 🙂
Girl… I think I have set the record for the most trashy books read in one week! So wonderfully fabulous to have children old enough to play on the beach without needing their mama every second. Loved your sand castle post!

Looks like you all had a fun time! Getting ready to enjoy a few days at the beach with my daughters, soninloves and grands in August. Can’t wait! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
We are having the best time! Thank you for the sweet bloggy love!

We just came home from a few days at the beach. I brought a book but didnt get any reading done. We alternated between the pool and the ocean several times a day. We also played the mandatory round of mini golf. I thought I was so smart starting to play when they opened at 9:00am….no lines..no crowds…cooler…pfft. By hole 15 I was sweating (because im from the north and can admit that) and yelling, “stop looking around and take your turn”. Lol. Even after all these years, I still cant handle the heat of the south. We had a blast and I cant wait to see more pictures of your family fun! Enjoy it!
Hey Robyn! I was yelling {and sweating} too on that putt putt course! Of course, Honey wanted to keep score and all I wanted to do was get back to the air conditioning.
We would love to see if guys on your next trip here!
