How to Make a Football Door Hanger

Football is BIG in the South! Did you see that National Championship game last week?

Whether you are cheering on your favorite college team or getting ready to host a Big Game party, you can show your team spirit and welcome your party guests with this custom made DIY Door Hanger! Today I’m sharing an easy tutorial for How to Make a Football Door Hanger using simple to find supplies.

How to Make a Football Door Hanger ~ Supplies Needed

poster sized sheet of foam core

serrated knife

1″ wide masking tape

glossy brown spray paint

white acrylic paint

wired ribbon

How to Make a Football Door Hanger ~Instructions

Step 1 – Use a pencil to trace a large football shape onto a poster sized sheet of foam core. My friend’s huge football shaped tray made a fabulous template for me to use.

Step 2 – Use a serrated knife to carefully cut out the football shape.

Step 3 – Cover the edges of the foam core shape using masking tape and this technique.

Step 4 – Spray paint the football with glossy brown spray paint.

Step 5 – Use white acrylic paint to add details to the football door hanger (stitching and lacing around the edges).

Step 6 – Add a fantastic bow to the DIY door hanger with Easiest Bow EVER and you are done!
