Welcome teachers back to school with a DIY Teacher Gift created from teacher essentials and a thrift store find! Create little kits that will help get teachers excited for the school year ahead in just a few quick steps.

This whole project started with a box of goodies from my Thrift Store Throwdown partners Tammy and Brittany from One More Time Events. Watch this video to see all they things they sent to me.

Each of the items had potential but I really wanted to make something awesome with the two metal bread tins. After weeks of racking my brain to think some an idea, I finally decided on a Back to School Teacher Gift! This post contains affiliate links for your convenience. {Click here} for my full disclosure policy.

Back to School Teacher Gift: Supplies Needed

  • Metal Container {A Thrift Store Find}
  • Brass Spray Paint
  • me & my BIG ideas Washi Tape Tube
  • Fun Office Supplies
  • Crinkle Paper Basket Filler

DIY Teacher Gift: Instructions

Step #1: Spray Paint Container

The metal bread tin was a great shape but the bright silver finished didn’t really float my boat. Thankfully I had some Brass Spray Paint leftover from my upcycled pineapple project.

Step #2: Add fun washi tape

Please tell me you know all about washi tape! It’s the funnest craft supply I have and I’m always looking for new ways to use it in projects. Love the colors and patterns of this pack from me & my BIG ideas Washi Tape Tube.

Step #3: Add fun teacher supplies

Teacher might groan about going back to school but most of us love teacher supplies. The metal containers were just the right size for fun teacher essentials.

Here’s a list of a few the items that added:

  • InkJoy Gel Pens
  • Desk Supplies {scissors, tape measure, staple remover}
  • Elastic Bands for the Happy Planner

If you *really* want to make your favorite teacher happy then give her one of these The Happy Planners! I love organizing my preschool, family, and blog life with this awesome planner. It’s way cheaper than this fancy planner. Plus all the little add-ons are so much fun!

    What an adorably cute idea! I would think I’d died and gone to heaven if one of my 6th graders gave that to me at the beginning of the school year. This is such a fun use for that bread tube!
